EXISTING CONDUIT ROUTE
MARKETING & SALES
Facility owners that own available conduits have an unused asset that could be turned into a revenue source. The FCS team can market these conduit routes to other companies working to establish networks in that area. When there is an interest, FCS acts as the broker that would negotiate the terms of the agreement, and ensure a successful transition.
We understand that your network route information is confidential. Our team specializes in protecting your sensitive information, while still marketing your available conduits. Owners can provide as much or as little information as they feel comfortable with, from full maps with detailed information about the location, size and condition of the available conduits, to minimal details that simply acknowledge that you have conduit assets for lease or sale.
If you have available conduits that you would like marketed,
please contact us for more information here.
Minimum of 30% cost savings for conduit construction and engineering.
ADVANTAGES TO USING
EXISTING CONDUITS
Greatly accelerates
speed to market.
Greatly reduced right of way and street damages.
Shared cost for future relocations with other telecom in the joint trench.
Greatly reduced permit fees.
Greatly reduces the opportunity for inaccurate locating and marking thus reducing the chances for future facility damages (safety in numbers).
Limits the effects of labor shortages and supply chain disruptions.
Greatly reduced traffic disruptions.
CONDUIT NETWORK CONSULTING
For telecom providers seeking available conduits routes, FCS can provide an anonymous survey and search of available conduits in the area. Our consulting service provides the best option for a fiber route using available conduits found. If no conduits are available, FCS can contact telecom providers about their interest in building a similar route by joining a cost sharing/joint trench concept for a fiber route buildout.
PROJECT SPOTLIGHTS
Since 2004, Rex Schick and his team have sold over 500,000 feet of conduit on 45 projects. Customers that have purchased include local and national telecom companies, long-haul providers, backhaul and wireless providers, CLEC providers, municipal and county governments, e-rate providers and CATV providers.

RIDGEVIEW ROAD DUCT PACKAGE PROJECT
A public private partnership was completed in 2021 between the City of Lenexa and K&W Underground, Inc. to install a telecom duct package in a new development during a design build road project. The City of Lenexa and the landowner planned to develop a former rock quarry location into commercial, retail, and multi-family units. The major challenge with building utilities in this area is the existing ground conditions, “rock”. The City of Lenexa engineers and planners recognized that the ground conditions required a joint trench approach for the telecom providers to reduce the overall buildout cost for each provider, as well as reduce future damage to the city's streets and right-of-ways.
Rex Schick was contacted by The City of Lenexa to provide the consulting expertise to develop and customize the ideal conduit and handhole design that telecom providers would utilize for a cost-efficient network buildout in that area. Local and national telecom providers were contacted to determine participants for the joint trench project.
Four telecom providers and The City of Lenexa fiber network service team agreed to participate in the joint trench program. Additional conduits were also installed for future use to eliminate damages to roads and rights of way. K&W Underground, Inc. secured agreements with all participants to construct this conduit and handhole network. The extra conduits in this package were acquired by Fiber Conduit Solutions to sell to telecom providers that want access to this high value location. Since the initial installation, two additional telecom providers have purchased conduits in this package.
This project is an example of how joint trench and extra available conduits can be utilized to benefit all parties including telecom providers, municipal governments, rights of way owners, land developers and end telecom users.
